In the spring of 2021, a father-son ran custom applicator team from Burley, ID made a considerable investment in precision technology by upgrading their John Deere Sprayers with ExactApply, pressure recirculation, and enhanced receivers and displays.
This technology was unproven to the applicator, but he understood the importance of staying up to date with the latest advancements and adapting in a timely manner. After he and his specialists created and set up John Deere Operations Center, an online farm management system, he saw a small snippet of how the technology worked and what the data looked like. He understood how the data seriously protected his operation from potential claims of crop loss due to his applicators. He then had the foresight to ask his Stotz Precision team to help him communicate this to his insurance agent. The team reached out to the agent, spoke over the phone, and provided emails and documents. These materials demonstrated how much the custom applicator had invested, what the investment does when used correctly, and how the adoption of these practices reduces the potential risk for the insurance company. After taking this all into consideration, the insurance company reduced their premium.
Working closely with a specialist, leveraging precision equipment, and being open to implementing new technologies enabled the Stotz Equipment customer to identify a better time window for spraying. These informed decisions created a more efficient operation and provided an opportunity to save money and be better equipped for future insurance premiums and claims.
